Geography
Located in the northwest of the district center - s. Tashtyp .
Located on the right bank of the Imek River. Distance to the nearest train station Art. Ust-Es - 39 km.
History
The formation of the Upper Istka dates back to the early 1920s. The settlement was founded by residents of nearby villages ( Nizhny Imek , Butrakhty , Tashtyp , Bolshoy Bor ).
In 1927-1928, the Trudovik agricultural artel was created (later the collective farm named after Voroshilov ).
In 1956-1957, a farm No. 5 of the Tashtyp Municipal Farm was established in Verkhny Imek.
There are currently no operating enterprises in Upper Imek.

The population is 213 people (as of January 1, 2004), including Russians (30%), Khakasses (65.2%), etc.
Infrastructure
There is an incomplete secondary school, a feldsher-midwife station, and a library.
