Spilomyia (Latin) is a genus of flies from the subfamily Eristalinae .

Description
Large flies are similar to the folds of the wasps. Body length from 10 to 24 mm [1] [2] . Eyes without hairs. Chest with a pattern of yellow spots and stripes. The hips of the hind legs are slightly thickened and curved. In front of the apex there is a prong on the underside of the thighs [2] .
Biology
Larvae develop in rotten wood and tree hollows [2] .
