About the album

This album can be called new only conditionally, as it includes rare and never-released songs.

The album opens with the instrumental composition “War of the Men” written by the group “ Mumiy Troll ” while working on the soundtrack for the film “Dunno and Barrabass”.

Smog is the youngest and probably the only song specifically written for this album. She was conceived as "a musical and artistic parable about the Debt, Peace and Women that are always waiting for loved ones." A video clip was shot for the song, the idea of which was born in Kronstadt and which premiered on February 23, Defender of the Fatherland Day.

Further on in the list of songs are songs written while working on the album “ Exactly Aloe Mercury ”. These are the songs “Evening” (single “Bride”), “Other Places” (single “My Singer”), “Oil” (single “Carnival.Net” and “Girl Friend” (single “Without Cheating”).

“Evening” was written by Ilya Lagutenko as a tribute to Vladivostok - the city in which he grew up, in which he knew a lot and which made him what he is.

The song “Other Places” did not get into the final version of the album “ Exactly Mercury Aloe ”, but, nevertheless, it can be put on a par with another Mumiy Troll hit - “My Singer”. “Other Places” gives her an organic contrast thanks to her angry sound and fantastic guitar solo - thus making the listener a peculiar picture. The composition would be a good fit for some thriller in the style of Alfred Hitchcock , if this were in nature.

The song “Girl Friend” has the same peculiar story. Initially, it was included in the list of 13 songs that were supposed to be included in the aforementioned album " Exactly Mercury Aloe ." But literally at the last moment she was replaced with the song “ Without Cheating ”, which had more chances to become a potential hit. However, "Girl Friend" entered the single for this song.

The song "Shamora" is named after the beach of the same name , which, thanks to the group Mumiy Troll, became known throughout Russia. It was written in 1996 for the album " Marine ", but Ilya Lagutenko decided not to include the song in the album, considering it a passing and not the most successful. Therefore, the song entered the "Rare Earth" after 14 years with a new arrangement.

The concert presentation of the album “Rare Earths” took place in Moscow on April 30 at GlavClub ( DK Gorbunova ), as well as in the Northern capital: on May 30, Mumiy Troll performed in St. Petersburg GlavClub. [one]

The all-Russian tour was launched in October 2010 and brought together 50 cities of Russia and neighboring countries. [2]
