The Mongolian National Historical Museum ( Mongolian. Mongolyn үndesniy Tikhiin Museum ) is the largest historical museum in Mongolia, located in Ulan Bator . Before the reconstruction of 1991, it was called the Museum of the Revolution [1] .

Content
History
The first in Mongolia - the Mongolian Folk Museum - was founded in 1924 and gave rise to numerous specialized museums. The first collections and expositions of the museum were compiled with the help of Soviet scientists and researchers A.D. Simukov, V.I. Lisovsky, P.K. Kozlov , as well as the American paleontologist R. C. Andrews . The modern National Museum, created from the merger of the historical, archaeological and ethnographic departments of the Central Museum and the Museum of the Revolution in 1991, is located in the building of the latter , built in 1971 . It is currently considered one of the richest Mongolian museums.
Exposition
The exposition presents the history of Mongolia from the Paleolithic to the present. Archeological material, photographs and diagrams of places of paleontological finds, numismatics, weapons, household items and worship are exhibited. One of the newest expositions is the materials from the 2000 excavations of the tomb of Bilge Khan Godu ( VIII century ).
