Midlands Province is located in the central part of Zimbabwe. Its area is 49 166 kmΒ².
Population
According to 2013, the population is 1,591,276 people [1] . In the Midlands live the representatives of all the major ethnic groups of Zimbabwe - Shona , Ndebele , Tswana , Suto .

Administrative division
Administratively, Midlands province is divided into 8 districts: Mberengwa, Zvishavane, North Gokwe, South Gokwe, Gweru, Chirumhanzu, Shurugvi, Kvekwe .
Economy
The Great Dyke geological fault stretched across the provinceβs territory. Here are the richest gold deposits in Zimbabwe. The largest industrial center of the province is the city of Kwekwe , where mining and metallurgical, metal-working and chemical enterprises are concentrated. Agriculture is developed in the Midlands areas outside the Great Dyke region; in the Gokwe region, in particular, cotton cultivation .
