Biography
He was born in the Sokolsky district of the Grodno province to a family of a low-income peasant (then a worker at the Sestroretsky Arms Plant, a gunsmith in parts of the tsarist and Red Army, head of the weapons museum at the Higher Rifle Courses). He graduated from the public school in Avgustov and entered the Suvalk gymnasium, but was forced to leave it due to lack of funds for tuition fees. Dedicated to singers in the bishop's choir in Warsaw for the possibility of free training in the religious school, which was then continued at the Kholmsk and Vilna theological seminaries. In military service since 1903. In the same year he entered the Vilna infantry cadet school . After graduating from college, a second lieutenant (Art. 24.03.1906), in the 1st category (the first in the issue, with the name entered on a marble board and awarded with the 1st prize for success - a gold watch), was appointed to the 1st Life-Grenadier Ekaterinoslav of Alexander II regiment in Moscow. One year was a volunteer at Moscow University (1908). The lieutenant (art. 04.22.1909). In the years 1909-1912. studied at the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff , after which, on the 1st category, he served in the 170th Molodechno Infantry Regiment in the city of Vilna . He participated in the First World War , during which he held the following positions: Senior Adjutant of the Headquarters of the 2nd Army Corps (5 months) and the 7th Siberian Infantry Division (from 04/21/1915; 11 months), and so on. staff officer for assignments at the headquarters of the 5th Army Corps (since 03/31/1916; 10 months)., and so on. headquarters officer for missions to quartermaster general of the Special Army (appointed between 03/01/01/12/1917; 1 month), etc. chief of staff of the 166th and 23rd infantry divisions (11 months). He joined the Red Army voluntarily in February 1918 . Participated in the Civil War , during which he held the following positions: head of the general department of the military-statistical department of the Operational Directorate of the All-Union Headquarters (from 05.1918), from 09.1918 - head of the Field Directorate of the All-Headquarters, head of the operations department of the 4th army headquarters, head of the same army (in February - April 1919), Commander of the Turkestan Army (May-June 1919), at the same time (03-08.1919) Chief of Staff of the Southern Group of Forces of the Eastern Front. The commander of the 4th Army (06.08.-08.10.1919), was at the disposal of the field headquarters, chief of staff of the Western Front (11.1919-02.1920), head of the training section of the Academy of the General Staff of the Red Army , officer of the Military Historical Commission of the Headquarters of the Red Army (March June 1920), commander of the 3rd Army of the Western Front (12.06.-18.10.1920) and the 4th Army of the Southern Front (22.10.1920-10.02.02.1921). Included in the lists of the General Staff of the Red Army from 07.15.1919 and 07.08.1920. After the Civil War, he held a number of major positions in the troops, headquarters and military educational institutions of the Red Army . From February 1921 to January 1922 - Commander of the Turkestan Front . In 1922-1924 - Deputy, and then Assistant Chief of the Main Directorate of Military Schools (GUUZ) of the Red Army . At the same time he headed the Higher Academic Courses of the Highest Command Staff at the Military Academy of the Red Army . In February 1925, he was appointed head of the Red Army Air Force Academy. From June 1927 - for especially important assignments under the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR . In June 1934, he was appointed Head of the Tactics Department of the Military Transport Academy of the Red Army. By order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 2412 of 11/23/1935, he was given the personal military rank of division commander . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1935.
Arrested on February 4, 1938. June 20, 1938 the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on charges of belonging to a military conspiracy sentenced to death. The sentence was executed on June 20, 1938. Place of burial: Communard .

For the successful fight against the Basmachi in the post, the commander of the Turkestan Front was awarded a sword of the Bukhara type (RVSR, 1921), a gold cigarette case (Turkestan Commission of the USSR Central Election Commission, 1921) and the Military Red Order of the Khorezm Republic (CEC of the Khorezm Republic, 1921).
