Katri Helena appeared on the Finnish stage in the 1960s. In 1969, she took part in the international song festival in Sopot . Twice, in 1979 and 1993, she represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest .
The most famous singer brought the song Anna mulle tähtitaivas (“Give me a starry sky”), written by composer Esa Nieminen in 1992. The song was sold in the amount of more than 100 thousand copies.
Has three children: two daughters and a son. Son - Juha Kalaoya died of a heart attack on April 29, 2009, at the age of 33 years.
