History
Under the Qing empire, these lands were subordinate to Butekha fudutun . In 1929, Busi County was formed here (布西 县, "west of Butekh"). After the formation of the puppet state of Manzhou, here in 1933 the khoshun Morin-Dawa-Qi (莫 力 达瓦 旗) was formed.
After World War II, Busi County, subordinate to the Nenjiang Province, was recreated here in 1946, but in the same year it was transformed into the khoshun Morin-Dava-Qi, which was transferred to the aimak Huna in Inner Mongolia. In 1953, the east of Inner Mongolia was allocated to a special administrative unit, and the khoshun became a part of it. In 1954, it was decided to abandon the special status of the eastern part of Inner Mongolia, and in the territories of the former aimags Huna and Khingan, the aimak Hulun-Buir was formed, which included the khoshun Morin-Dava-Qi. In 1958, Hoshun was renamed the Mori-Dawa-Daur Autonomous Hoshun.
In 1969, the autonomous Hoshun, together with the aimak, became part of the Heilongjiang province, in April 1970 it was transferred from the aimak to the Da-Khingan-lin district; in 1979 - returned with aimak to the composition of Inner Mongolia. In 2001, the aimak Hulun-Buir was transformed into an urban district.
Administrative Division
Autonomous khoshun is divided into 10 villages, 1 volost and 2 national volosts.
