Caive oak on a postage stamp of Latvia 2005
Kaiv oak [1] ( Latvian. Kaives ozols, Kaives Senču ozols ) is the oldest tree in Latvia and the thickest oak in the Baltic states [2] [3] . Oak grows in the Tukum region , on the northern outskirts of Kaive , near Senchi Farm. [4] Oak height 18.0 m, girth 10.2 m, tree age approx. 1000 years. Caive oak is an environmental protected object and is included in the list of natural monuments of Latvia [5] . Caive oak is revered among the pagans as a magical and witching place [6] .
