Birikchul ( hack. Pirik Chul - “impassable river”) is a village in Askiz district of Khakassia . It is located 60 km from the district center - Askiz village.

Located on the right and left banks of the Askiz River. The distance to the city of Abakan is 160 km. The railway station is located in the center of the village. The number of farms is 1105, the population is 2674 people. (01.01.2004), including Russians (97.5%), Khakasses .

The formation of the village in 1949 was associated with the construction of the Abakan - Mezhdurechensk railway ( Kemerovo region ) in 1947. The newly formed village was named Birikchul. The decision to classify the village of Birikchul as a working village was made in 1957 . There were industrial enterprises on the territory of the village: Askizsky timber industry farm of the Khakasles trust, lestranskhoz, Askizsky forestry enterprise, convoy Construction and assembly train 183, railway station station. There are no agricultural enterprises.
