Seleucia ( other Greek Σελεύκεια , Latin Seleukeia, Lyrbe ) is one of the ancient cities on the Mediterranean coast of Pamphylia , in Anatolia , 10 km north of the city of Manavgat (about 3 km north of the village of Bucakşeyhler), in the province Antalya , Turkey .

History
The city was located on a hilltop with steep slopes, naturally occupying a favorable defensive position.
The original name is Lyrbe. It was founded in the pre-Hellenistic period (330 - 30 years BC).
In the VIII-IX centuries. Seleucia was the administrative center of one of the districts ( fem ) of Byzantine Asia Minor .
In the 1180s Seleucia was taken under the control of the Armenians .
The surviving buildings: the remains of the agora , the mausoleum , Roman baths , a necropolis , several temples. Because of its remoteness, the city was not looted for building materials.
Excavations
Archaeological excavations were carried out in the 1970s. Istanbul researchers. Finds: a bronze statue of Apollo and a mosaic of Orpheus (dating from the 1st – 2nd centuries AD) were transferred to the Antalya Museum .
