Biography
Ashir Kakabayev was born in 1909 on the territory of the present Kunya-Urgench district of the Tashauz region of Turkmenistan . From 1926 to 1934, he served in the police, participated in armed clashes with basmachs . In 1934, Kakabaev became the head of the local cotton-growing community, which was transformed in 1936 into the Bolshevik collective farm in the Kunya-Urgench district of the Tashauz region of the Turkmen SSR. Kakabaev led him until his death in 1968 [1] .
In 1947, Kakabayev received a high yield of cotton - 90.27 centners from each hectare.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 5, 1948, for "obtaining high cotton yields when the collective farm performs mandatory supplies and payment in kind for the work of the MTS in 1947 and the provision of grain seeds for spring sowing in 1948" Kakabayev Ashir was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award Order of Lenin No. 70734 and the Hammer and Sickle medal [1] .
In 1948, Kakabaev received a cotton harvest of 91.1 centners per hectare, in 1949 - 42.3 centners, in 1950 - 36.5 centners. Each year, the area increased significantly, reaching in 1950 up to 1,215 hectares.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated July 30, 1951, Kakabayev Ashir was awarded the second Sickle and Hammer gold medal [1] for his “exceptional services to the state”.
By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 10, 1952, "due to the non-fulfillment of indicators on the yield of raw cotton established for the title of Hero of Socialist Labor," Kakabayev was deprived of the second Sickle and Hammer gold medal and the Order of Lenin, which was awarded to him according Decree of the USSR AFP of April 11, 1949. The grounds for the deprivation of steel were the registrations of the crops in which Kakabayev was caught [1] .
He was elected a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the Turkmen SSR of the 2nd and 5th convocations and a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkmenistan (1950) [1] .
He died in 1968 [1] .
Memory
Until now, there is an agricultural enterprise in Turkmenistan - the Asheir Kakabayev Leyhan Association [2] .
