Written in Red is the thirteenth studio album of the British rock band The Stranglers , recorded by producer Andy Gill and released in January 1997 by When Records .

About the album
The album was presented on December 13, 1996 in EuroDisney Paris : the group performed several songs of the album, along with famous things: “Always the Sun”, “ Golden Brown ” and “Let Me Introduce You to the Family”. The release was also marked by several performances by The Stranglers at HMV chain stores in Birmingham , Nottingham , Sheffield and Leeds .
Written in Red was the first album in the history of the group that failed to enter the Top 40 UK Albums Chart : in February 1997, it peaked at # 52 [1] .
The only single from the album, “In Heaven She Walks”, was released on February 3 and rose to # 86 on the UK Singles Chart .
