Biography
Alexander Nikolaevich was born in 1842.
He spent his childhood in the village of Shuran, Kazan province . After studying at the First Kazan Gymnasium [ specify ] . He entered Kazan University .
He graduated with the title of candidate of historical and philological sciences and with a gold medal for the essay “Western European immigrants in Russia in the 17th century” and was left at the university to prepare for a professorship at the Department of History. But soon he was forced to leave his studies at the university and move to Petersburg, where he devoted himself to teaching, choosing history and geography as his specialty.
Since 1875 he was an observer at the Technological Institute [1] .
He was a member of the St. Petersburg Pedagogical Society.
Collaborated with magazines: " Russian Antiquity ", "Children's Reading", "Spring", " Russian Bulletin "; with newspapers: “Voice”, “Volga-Kama Territory”.
He was seriously ill, Ovsyannikov returned to Kazan, where he died in November 1899.
