Asian Champion among youths ( 1977 ). Since 1982, playing for the UK team. The best results in the national championships: 1983 - 2nd, 1984 - 2nd β 4th; 1986 - 1-3 places. He participated in the 10th World Chess Olympiads, 4 times for the team of New Zealand ( 1976 - 1980 , 2008 ) and 6 for the team of England (1982 - 1992 ). As part of a team of selected chess players of the world, a participant in a match with Soviet chess players (1984) played a draw with O. Romanishin and M. Tal on the 2nd reserve board.
