General Information
Rota International Airport covers an area of 324 hectares , is located at an altitude of 185 meters above sea level and operates one runway 9/27 with dimensions of 1829 × 46 meters with asphalt surface [1] .
From March 31, 2006 to March 31, 2007, Roth International Airport handled 6,550 aircraft takeoff and landing operations (an average of 17 operations daily), of which 94% of flights accounted for aerotaxi, 4% for general aviation and 2% for military aircraft flights [1] .
Since the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands has a different jurisdiction of the US customs and immigration authorities - the offices of these services at Rota International Airport work for all arriving flights, including flights from the airports of the United States of America.
In March 2006, the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) opened its representative office at the airport [4] . From the time the Office was established in 2002 and up to 2006, passengers arriving at Rota International Airport were checked by TSA officers at Guam International Airport and Saipan International Airport , which caused serious inconvenience to both passengers and the security services themselves [5] .
