Chugunkka - a river in the Nizhny Novgorod region , flows into the Cheboksary reservoir [2] . Before the formation of the reservoir, it flowed into the Sura on the left, 0.5 km from the mouth. It flows through the territory of the Lyskovsky and Vorotynsky districts. 16 km from the mouth takes the river Gremyachka on the right.

As a result of the construction of the dam in the Fokinsky floodplain during the construction of the Cheboksary hydroelectric station, the channel was changed.
The source of the river in the Lyskovsky district, 4 km south of the village of Barmino . It flows from west to east parallel to the Volga .
Tributaries: Yashinovka, Medvedka, Vyazovsky Stream, Stone Stream, Sarayka, Wicket, Gremyachka . In the lower reaches it is connected by a channel with Ognyovka .
Settlements: Nadezhdino , Cast Iron , Alekseevsky , Kriushi . Near the confluence of Gremyachka in Chugunkka, there is a district center - the village of Vorotynets .
In 1611 (Nizhny Novgorod payer 7119 and 7120gg) the river was called Chuginka. Considering that before the Russians came to these places, the Mordvin-Erzyans lived the river was called the Chukinka, which means the Prayer or the Sacred River.
