The python node [1] is a simple connecting node. As well as a constrictor , it consists of a turnover passing over a simple unit .

It differs from the constrictor in that the ends of the cable extend from the outer sides of the assembly, and not from the middle. The python knot is essentially a double straight knot , which can be seen if you remove it from the rail. In a double fishing unit, two cables are connected to each other symmetrically by python nodes
