Achinsk-Minusinsk railway

Achinsk-Minusinsky railway - Achinsk-Minusinsk railway line , built intermittently from 1913 to 1926.

In 1910, well-known entrepreneurs, spouses V. A and A. A. Balandins , initiated the creation of the Achmindor joint-stock company for the construction of a railway from Achinsk to Minusinsk. The Balandins spent significant funds to issue a concession for the construction of the road. An engineer G.V. Andrianov was invited from St. Petersburg for prospecting work.

In 1912, the charter of the joint-stock company was approved, its fixed capital amounted to 3 million 755 thousand rubles. The Balandins did not have the funds for construction, but they managed to conclude an agreement with the Russo-Asian Bank on the redemption of the concession for 600 thousand rubles. Since 1913, private construction began at the expense of gold miners of the Yenisei province . In 1916, the St. Petersburg International Commercial Bank took a major part in the construction of the road. Over a thousand workers and employees, as well as prisoners of war from Austria-Hungary, were employed in the construction. By 1917, due to the decline of the Russian economy during the First World War , the construction of the railway was suspended.

After the revolutionary events of 1917 and the subsequent Civil War, already in the USSR , in 1922, Sibrevkom adopted a special resolution on the completion of the Achinsk-Minusinsk railway. A cash amount of 3 million rubles and material and technical supply were determined. The construction of the road was completed by the end of 1925, its length was 459 kilometers. The road was finally commissioned in 1926.

In 1949, construction began on the line of the South Siberian highway Novokuznetsk - Abakan [1] . In 1959, at the junction with the Achinsk-Minusinsk railway, the Tigey junction station was commissioned.
