Operation Yehoshua (Operation Jesus) is an operation to rescue Ethiopian Jews [1] from Sudan to Israel in January 1985 .
George W. Bush , then vice president of the United States, with the consent of the Sudanese leadership, organized the Khartoum β Tel Aviv flight with CIA support. Thus, during the operation "Moses" , another 800 Ethiopian Jews were taken from Sudan to Israel [2] [3] [4] .
Many families remained separated for another 7 years, and were able to reunite only after Mengistu Haile Mariam lost control of Ethiopia, when during the operation "Solomon" from May 24, 1991 more than 14 thousand repatriates were taken out of Israel in 36 hours by air Ethiopia
