About the album
The last VU album, recorded with the participation of Lou Reed (left the band in August 1970, a month before the album was released). It is considered the most commercially sought-after release from the entire Velvets discography; the main hits from the album were “ Sweet Jane ” and “ Rock and Roll ”. Ranked 109th on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of “ 500 Greatest Albums of All Time ”. [four]
Maureen Tucker (drums) did not participate in the recording of the album, while pregnant with her first child - she was temporarily replaced by Billy, brother of Doug Yul.
