Temples of Chola ( English Great Living Chola Temples ) - Hindu temples in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu , erected during the reign of the Chola Dynasty. These temples include: the Brihadishvara Temple in Tanjavur , the Gangaykondacholishvaram Temple and the Ayravateshvara Temple in Darasuram . The Brihadishvara Temple was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987 ; Gangaykondacholishwaram Temple and Ayravateshvara Temple in Darasuram were added to it in 2004 . Since then, these World Heritage Sites have been known as Chola Temples.
