Pattadakal ( Eng. Pattadakal , cann. ಪಟ್ಟದ್ಕಲ್ಲು ) is a city in the north of the Indian state of Karnataka . Located on the banks of the Malaprabha River in Bagalkot District, 22 km from Badami and 10 km from Ayhole . In Pattadacal is a famous complex of architectural monuments of the VIII century , which represent the culmination of the development of the style of the Hindu temple architecture Vesara . In 1987, a group of temples Pattadakala was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site [2] . In Pattadacal, both the Dravidian (southern) and the soot (northern) styles of Indian temple architecture are presented.
