DescriptionThe length of the body is 20-40 cm. It was once widely distributed in New Zealand. Lived in lowland rivers and streams. Probably disappeared altogether, as it did not come across in catches from the 20s of the 20th century. Currently can live in the southwestern part of the island.
Security and numbersThe number of this species, if it is not extinct, is obviously insignificant. Arranged in New Zealand . Listed in the IUCN Red List for Category I.
