First steps, first successes

The club was founded on November 11, 1981 at the KamAZ press-frame factory. The basis was taken TSO shop team. The initiators of the creation of the team were made by the foreman Vadim Paslov and Komsomol Valery Chetverik - the future long-term head coach of the team. The first team name is Trud-PRZ. In the first years of its existence, the team participated in city and republican championships: in 1982 - in the city championship, in 1983-1987 - in the championship of Tatarstan. And in 1987, the club performed in the “Volga region” zone of the RSFSR championship among physical culture groups, where it took second place (after Kamyshin's “Textile worker” ) ^[1] . In the same year he won the Cup of Tatarstan ^{[2] [3] [4]} .

Since 1988, the club began to wear the name "Torpedo", that year the team debuted in the second league of the USSR championship, replacing the first representing the city " Turbine ", and took the fourteenth place among 17 participants. In 1989, one point was not enough to win a ticket to the class of the strongest teams of the second league - the buffer zone. A year later, already bearing the name of the plant of the same name (“KAMAZ”), it took first place (ahead of Lada and Rubin ) and entered the buffer zone, where in 1991 it took tenth place among 22 participants ^{[2] [3 ] [5]} .

In connection with the reorganization of the Union Championship, KAMAZ was given a place in the First League of Russian football.

The 1992 season was very successful for the team. Only in the first 18 rounds, KAMAZ had only 3 losses and not a single draw (37 goals scored, 10 missed). In the same spirit, Chelnins continued in the second round, in the end, KAMAZ won 12 major victories (6: 1, 6: 2, twice 5: 0, 5: 1, four times 4: 0, three times 3: 0 ), as a result, without letting any of the teams in the central zone go around itself, it confidently took the first place in the season and from the first attempt received the right to play in the Highest League of Russian football in the 1993 season.

1993–1998

From 1993 to 1997, the club is a regular participant in the Higher League Championship of Russia. His debut match in the Premier League KAMAZ played against Uralmash , one of the eternal opponents of Chelny. The match was held at the “ Builder ” stadium, and Avtozavodtsev won their first match 3: 1. Then the debutant suffered six defeats in a row, and, interrupting this series with a home match with Tekstilshchik (3: 1), KAMAZ did not lose to anyone else in his field. That season, KAMAZ, as a debutant, took 10th place, and Victor Panchenko , having scored 21 goals, became the top scorer of the tournament.

In 1994, KAMAZ made a splash, unexpectedly for everyone, the team ranked third, for almost the entire tournament. But, unsuccessfully performed in the last rounds, as a result, the club took the sixth place, which to this day is the highest achievement of the club in the championships of Russia ^[6] . Two points were not enough to direct a trip to the main tournament of the UEFA Cup , and some circumstances prevented them from playing in the UEFA-Intertoto Cup ^{[7] [8]} .

In 1995, having taken the ninth place, the club won a place in European competitions, and the following year performed on the international stage in the UEFA-Intertoto Cup , where it reached the semi-finals . Particularly noteworthy was the victory won in Germany over the club " Munich 1860 " ^[9] , which allowed to consolidate the victory in the group tournament .

In 1993 and 1995, the team represented the Russian national team at the summer Universiade football tournaments . In 1993 she took the 6th place, and in 1995 took the bronze of the tournament ^[10] . In both tournaments, the national team included only one “legionary” from other clubs: Rustem Khuzin from Kazan “Rubin” in 1993 and Ayrat Akhmetgaliyev from Nizhnekamsk “Neftekhimik” in 1995.

During these years, KAMAZ was the football flagship of Tatarstan (even the design of a new modern football stadium in Naberezhnye Chelny for 30 thousand seats ^{[11] was} being developed), and the fire at the KAMAZ engine factory in 1993 did not at first have a very strong effect on the team , the club was assisted by the leaders of the republic ^[12] . But in 1997, the lack of funding nevertheless began to have an effect, and the football club had to leave the big leagues ( Zelkevicius was the coach of KAMAZ that year), and the following year, the first league. Both times the club occupied the last place in the division, and both times during the competition they took 6 points each for various non-payments ^[13] .

In total, during the performance in the Higher League, KAMAZ played a number of vivid memorable matches, defeating strong clubs with a rich history. Like for example victories over Moscow " Dynamo " - 5: 2 and 3: 2, " Spartak " - 2: 0 and 2: 1 and Torpedo 4: 1 and 3: 1, Vladikavkaz "Spartak" / "Alania" - 6: 0 and 5: 2, Zenit (St. Petersburg) - 3: 0 (in St. Petersburg ) and 3: 1. In the Cup of Russia , KAMAZ twice reached the quarter-finals ( 1994 , 1996 ).

Almost all the successes of KAMAZ since the Higher League are associated with the name of the creator of the club, Valery Vasilyevich Chetverik , who then trained the team and was the general director of the club.

Since the second half of the nineties, the Tatarstan authorities have thought about the presence of a strong team in Kazan ^[12] :

Igor Volchok is the head coach of Rubin in 1996-1998 ^{[14] [15]} .

As a result, the Rubin team, which occupied the 15th and 17th places in the 1994 and 1995 seasons in the Center zone of the Second League , moved into the first division, and then to the top, where it became two times in a row champion of Russia.

Financing of the KAMAZ team by the republic has stopped. After the departure of the team from the top division, there was a possibility that the club would be renamed FC Chulman ^[16] , due to the possible transition under the patronage and legal jurisdiction of the city administration ^[17] . Experiencing severe financial problems ^[18] , the team finished the second half of the 1998 season in the first division with young graduates of local youth sports schools ^{[19] [20]} , having suffered 15 defeats in a row.

1999—2003

In these years, the KAMAZ football club performed in the Second Division in the Ural and Ural-Volga regions, where KAMAZ's rivals were clubs from major industrial centers, such as Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Nizhnekamsk, Sterlitamak, Togliatti, Novotroitsk, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Nizhny Novgorod. All of them subsequently went to the First Division . In 1999, the team played with young homegrown players (one of them was Beaver ), and in 2000-2002, gaining strong and famous football players with experience at a higher level (ex-Spartak Jubanov , ex-torpedo Grishin , who played in the Rotor " Matola , Zhunenko and others) ^{[21] [22] [23]} , KAMAZ unsuccessfully solved the task of entering the First Division, which was supplied by KAMAZ OJSC . After the arrival of coach Yury Gazzayev in September 2002, KAMAZ did what the head of the team failed since the beginning of 2000, Shubin ^[24] : in 2003 (in a stubborn fight against Chelyabinsk’s Lukoil and Sterlitamak ’s Sodovik ) class, with particularly high-profile acquisitions for this was not required.

Works on the reconstruction of the KAMAZ stadium, within which plastic seats were installed in all stands, were carried out.

2004—2012

Returning to the first division, KAMAZ immediately took fourth place among twenty-two participants (moreover, practically the same composition that played a year earlier in the Second Division ^[25] ), never dropping below this bar in the final standings ( only in 2009 he finished fifth) and for many years being one of the leaders of the division. ^[26] . The infrastructure of the club was improved, several training fields were built with natural and artificial lawns ^[27] . There were also plans to build a new stadium for 16,000 seats like the Saturn stadium in Ramenskoye ^[28] . During this time, many players who passed through KAMAZ played at a higher level (including in the national team), but the club itself lacked quite a bit before raising in class and returning to the strongest clubs in Russia - the Premier League. Losing their leading players who left for the best financial and sports conditions each year, KAMAZ was recruited by players from the second league and on the leftover principle (sometimes taking those on whom they had already given up), nevertheless maintaining their position among the leaders of the division ^{[29 ] [30] [31] [32]} and regularly bypassing the “iron” candidates for promotion (usually several) in the final standings.

In 2005 , KAMAZ took the third place and stopped a step away from the Premier League, the home defeat on October 24 from a direct competitor, Nalchik Spartak (0: 1) ^{[33] [34]} , was the key, and the team did not have enough 2 points for getting into the exit zone in the Premier League. In 2006 and 2007 , KAMAZ also played at a good level and was ranked 4th in the standings for both seasons. In the 2008 season, the club again won small bronze medals. In the autumn of that year, KAMAZ, in principle, played against Kuban , winning in his field in the course of the meeting with a score of 3: 1, in the second half, in 8 minutes, he missed 3 goals, lost and thereby lost the chance of reaching the Premier League ^[43] . However, at the end of the year, the prospect of KAMAZ increased the prospect of getting into the Premier League next year: in early December 2008, the Moscow Region authorities announced a decision to merge Khimki and Saturn Ramenskoye due to the difficult financial situation. the situation in the region caused by the economic crisis ^{[44] [45]} . However, after a few days, reports began to be received about the continuation of speeches by FC Khimki in the lower division ^[48] or in the Premier League ^[49] . On December 11, the Moscow Region Government, which is the main sponsor of the club, still found an amount of 300 million rubles, which is necessary for the club to perform in the Premier League ^[50] . And thus, KAMAZ began the next season in the First League as well.

In 2009 , the team took the 5th place, and just like in all previous seasons (despite regular losses in the composition - Ignatiev , Petrovich , Grachev ), was close to the first two places and kept all the leaders in suspense. Toward the end of the season, the general director and head coach Yury Gazzaev ^[51] left the club, and. about. The head coach was Vitaly Panov ^[52] , who completed the end of the season ^[53] . After the end of the season, he went after Gazzayev to the Samara “ Wings of the Soviets ”, and later became his assistant in the Astrakhan “ Volgara ” ^[54] . But the new head coach of KAMAZ from the 2010 season was Robert Evdokimov ^[55] - the record holder in the number of matches for KAMAZ as a player ^{[56] [57]} . The “ Moscow ”, which withdrew from the championship of the Russian Premier League, was replaced by the third “ Alania ” from Vladikavkaz, finishing in the First Division. However, at the last moment, thanks to the intervention of the government of the Samara region, the club from Samara was able to begin the performance.

In the autumn of 2009, information was also passed on the planned as a result of negotiations the deputy director of the Russian Technologies Corporation and the president of FC Krylia Sovetov Igor Zavyalov, the general director of KAMAZ OJSC Sergey Kogogin and the president of AvtoVAZ Igor Komarov uniting into a single structure of football clubs КАМАЗ», «Крылья Советов» и «Лада» (Тольятти) ^[58] с единой системой управления футбольным хозяйством, вершиной должен был стать ПФК «Крылья Советов» — участник Премьер-Лиги ^{[59] [60] [61]} . Назывались следующие команды: занявшие 3-е и 4-е место в первом дивизионе « Нижний Новгород » и «КАМАЗ», а также « Алания », выбывшая из чемпионата. В итоге ближе к 25 января 2011 года — дню принятия решения — всё более предпочтительными становились шансы «Краснодара». «Амкар» отозвал заявление на выход из Премьер-Лиги, «Нижний Новгород» отказался от перехода в Высший дивизион по финансовым причинам ^[65] , КАМАЗу не поступило официального приглашения, а вариант с «Аланией» РФПЛ посчитал нарушением спортивного принципа. Тогда «Краснодар» подал заявку на вступление в Премьер Лигу. 25 января «Краснодар» официально занял место «Сатурна» в Премьер-лиге. Позже появились слухи, что РФС препятствовал продвижению «КАМАЗа» в Премьер-лигу ^{[66] [67]} .

В сезон 2011/2012 «КАМАЗ» вступил уже с финансовыми трудностями. Костяк команды составляли воспитанники футбольной школы «КАМАЗа» ^[68] . Несмотря на молодой состав, в течение сезона команда занимала место вверху таблицы ^[69] , однако из-за серии неудачных игр (шесть поражений подряд в сентябре-октябре) команде не хватило всего одного очка для попадания в первую восьмёрку ^[70] (а от пятого места «КАМАЗ» остал всего на два очка ^{[70] [71]} ), и во второй части переходного сезона ^[72] она играла в турнире команд с 9-го по 19-е места, где заняла первое (девятое) место. При этом, из-за угрозы расформирования футбольного клуба « Нижний Новгород », «КАМАЗ» (как занявший девятое место по итогам первого этапа) мог получить на вторую часть сезона место в первой восьмёрке ^[73] , но этого не произошло.

В 2011 году Рыков перешёл из «КАМАЗа» в московское Динамо, Коронов , будучи игроком «КАМАЗа», сыграл за вторую сборную России . В 2013 году челнинский воспитанник Козлов дебютировал в матче за первую сборную , а в 2014 году принял участие в чемпионате Мира в Бразилии .

С 2012 по декабрь 2017 года команду «КАМАЗ» тренировал Владимир Клонцак , помогавший в 2010—2011 годах Роберту Евдокимову , который отбыл вместе с помощниками Слабодичем и Захарчуком в расположение оренбургского « Газовика » ^[74] . 31 мая 2012 года руководством ОАО «КАМАЗ» принято решение о сохранении профессионального статуса ФК «КАМАЗ» и дано подтверждение на выступление команды во Втором дивизионе Первенства России в сезоне 2012/2013 в связи со снижением объёмов финансирования. ^[81] 6 июня 2012 года на состоявшемся в Доме футбола заседании общего собрания членов ФНЛ был официально исключён из ФНЛ. ^[82] .

В конце 2012 года ОАО «КАМАЗ» заявило что не будет выделять средства на содержание профессионального клуба ^[83] . Появилась вероятность прекращения существования клуба ^[84] . В городе прошёл митинг в поддержку сохранения футбольного клуба ^[85] .

В июне 2013 года было объявлено о достижении договоренностей, согласно которым ФК «Рубин» (Казань) будет осуществлять финансирование клуба ^[86] , а «КАМАЗ» входит в футбольную структуру «Рубина» ^[87] . Должность генерального директора клуба получил Юрий Шеин — депутат челнинского горсовета и в прошлом капитан «КАМАЗа» ^[88] . Первоначально были выделены 10 миллионов рублей на клубную инфраструктуру и выплату зарплат. В сезоне 2013/14 команда заняла третье место. А в сезоне 2014/2015 и вовсе выиграла турнир и вышла в ФНЛ. Но финансовое положение клуба оставляло желать лучшего, и выступление в ФНЛ в 2015/16 году оказалось провальным (команда с самого старта турнира осела на последнем месте и не поднималась выше предпоследнего), из-за реконструкции своего стадиона команда в 2015 году проводила все домашние поединки в Нижнекамске , на одном из матчей поле стадиона « Нефтехимик » было признано негодным для игры в футбол, и «КАМАЗу» было засчитано техническое поражение ^[89] . Также начали появляться слухи о снятии команды с первенства из-за финансовых проблем ^{[90] [91]} . В итоге клуб всё же смог доиграть сезон Футбольной национальной лиги .

Последующее первенство Второго дивизиона клуб закончил в тройке аутсайдеров группы «Урал-Приволжье» ПФЛ (на седьмом месте из девяти), в следующем году финишировал четвёртым. Во второй половине 2016 года финансовая ситуация начала несколько улучшаться, в клуб пришла команда менеджеров из Казани ^[92] , в руководстве клуба произошли некоторые изменения, на должность генерального директора клуба заступил Айнур Миннеханов ^{[93] [94]} , президентом ФК «КАМАЗ» стал мэр Набережных Челнов Наиль Магдеев ^[95] , вернулся в клуб и основатель команды Валерий Четверик ^[96] . Было подписано партнёрское соглашение с Ак Барс Банком сроком на один год ^{[97] [98]} с возможностью пролонгации ^[99] . Летом 2017 года ФК «КАМАЗ» и пивоваренная компания Efes Rus заключили контракт, согласно которому бренд «Белый Медведь Безалкогольное» на ближайшие два года ^[100] становился титульным спонсором клуба ^{[101] [102]} . Новым техническим спосонсором в области экипировки стала отечественная компания 2K Sport ^{[103] [104]} (ранее, команда в течение многих лет экипировалась Адидасом ^[105] ). 28 декабря 2017 года главным тренером клуба вместо Владимира Клонцака был назначен Евгений Ефремов ^[106] . Советником по футболу мэра города и президента клуба Наиля Магдеева является известный в прошлом футболист Евгений Ловчев ^{[107] [108]} . В сезон-2018/19 «КАМАЗ» вступил в качестве одного из фаворитов группы «Урал-Приволжье» (наряду с « Нефтехимиком ») ^[109] , Наиль Магдеев поставил перед командой задачу занять 1-е место ^[110] . Notes

The club holds home matches at the KAMAZ stadium. The stadium was built in 1977. The first official match was held August 23, 1988 with the club "Metallurg" (Magnitogorsk) . The match was attended by 5500 spectators. Throughout its history, the stadium has undergone several reconstructions. In 1996, a heated field appeared, in 2003, plastic seats were installed on all the stands, as well as lighting and electronic scoreboards were updated. In 2015, a large-scale reconstruction of the stadium was carried out with the complete demolition of all the existing stands and the construction in their place of new metal constructions with a total capacity of 6,248 spectators. A new three-storey administrative building was also built, two public toilets were built, lighting and a board were replaced at the stadium, a video surveillance system was installed ^[137] .

The first fans of the club, which was also called Torpedo, appeared in the 80s, during the time when the team played in the second allied league: visits to some other cities were organized and attributes were made.
