It was formed on a flexure-like step composed of Cambrian deposits - gray limestones and dolomites . It stretches southwest from 89 ° 56 'E Northeast to 89 ° 90 'E more than 60 km and borders the South-Minusinsk depression in the northwest. The maximum height is noted in the central part of the ridge - 1129 m and 1191 m (Mount Kolerchit ). In general, it is a low-mountain massif, cutting off to the plain with a ledge 200 m high. The peaks are flattened, the slopes are covered with a mixed birch-larch forest. On the southern slopes of the southwestern part originate the right tributaries of the river. Uybat - p. On the southern slopes is the Kamyzyak steppe - a section of the Khakassky reserve .
