The coat of arms of the First Republic of Armenia is one of the state symbols of the Democratic Republic of Armenia. The authors were the architect, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Tamanyan and artist Hakob Kodzhoyan .

Coat of arms elements
The emblem consists of the following elements: Shield - in the center - Mount Ararat , which is a symbol of the Armenian nation, on its peak Noah’s ark , because according to tradition, the ark after the flood stopped on this mountain. The shield is divided into 4 sections, which symbolize the four independent Armenian kingdoms in the history of Armenia: Bagratidov in the upper left, Arshakids in the upper right, Artashesids in the lower left, and Rubenids in the lower right. Leo and Eagle , which support the shield, are the kings of the animal world and symbolize wisdom , pride , patience and nobility . For many centuries they were symbols of royal families.
Additional Elements
At the bottom of the shield are five more important elements. A broken chain means freedom and independence, a sword means the power and strength of the nation, wheat ears - the hardworking nature of the Armenians, a branch - the intellectual and cultural heritage of the Armenian people. Three-color ribbon means the flag of the Republic of Armenia .
Coat of Arms
The main colors of the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of Armenia are golden and silver, of the kingdoms of historical Armenia: top left is red, top right is blue, bottom left is blue, bottom right is red, and Mount Ararat depicted in the center on the shield is orange. The indicated colors were traditionally used in the coats of arms and banners of the royal dynasties of Armenia and are similar to the colors of the flag of the Republic of Armenia.
