Rylsky NASU . Honored Artist of Ukraine. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine.

Biography
She graduated from the Kiev Art Institute with a degree in History and Theory of Arts (teachers L. Milyaeva , O. Tishchenko, P. Beletsky ).
From 1965 to 1967 - consultant at the Republican exhibition of porcelain and faience products. From 1967 to 1973 - Senior Architect, Senior Researcher, Department of Preservation of Architectural Monuments (GosStroy of Ukraine).
In 1973-1976, she taught at the Kiev Institute of Culture named after A. E. Korneychuk .
Since 1976 - Researcher at the Institute of Art Criticism, Folklore Studies and Ethnology named after M.F. Rylsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine , since 1990 has been in charge of the folk arts sector, since 2000 - Leading Researcher.
She was married to the archeologist P.P. Tolochko ; son - historian A.P. Tolochko (born 1963).
Scientific Activities
Tatyana Kara-Vasilyeva is the author of curricula on folk arts and a number of scientific and methodological manuals.
Engaged in the development of concepts and the organization of scientific conferences, exhibitions of folk arts in Ukraine, Argentina, Angola, Greece, Macedonia, Poland, France.
Part of the specialized scientific councils for the protection of doctoral and master's theses of the Institute of Art History, Folklore Studies and Ethnology. M. Rylsky NASU and Lviv National Academy of Arts.

- National Prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko (2012) [1] - for the book “History of Ukrainian Embroidery”.
