Russian Union of Germanists

The Russian Union of Germanists (RSG) is a non-governmental , non-profit organization , an association of literary scholars , linguists , cultural scientists and other researchers and authors whose scientific interests are concentrated in the field of Germanic studies , has been operating in Russia since 2003 [1] .

Content

History of Education

In November 2003, at the initiative of the German literary scholars in Moscow and St. Petersburg and with the support of DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), the Russian Union of Germanists was created. In November 2004, the Second Congress of the RSG was held in Moscow , at which the linguistic section of the Union was formed. Since that time, the RSG has been actively functioning, its members take part in organizing and conducting various scientific conferences and congresses [2] .

Goals and objectives

1. To support and represent both in Russia and abroad activities within the framework of the specialty “German Studies” (literary studies and linguistics).

2. To facilitate professional contacts of its members and the exchange of information between them by publishing a newsletter issued once a year or once every two years (including in electronic form), and also, if possible, through the publication of the RSG yearbook.

3. Support scientific and pedagogical initiatives within the framework of the specialty “German Studies” (eg conferences, seminars related to the support of young scientists, students and graduate students).

4. Coordinate research in the field of German studies in Russia, organize lecture tours and carry out scientific publications (eg, magazines, scientific collections, monographs, etc.) [3] .

Editions

  • The yearbook of the Russian Germanic Studies RGS currently has 6 volumes and is a collection of publications by famous Russian linguists and literary scholars on various aspects of Germanic studies.
