Leiopelma Hamilton [1] ( lat. Leiopelma hamiltoni ) is a New Zealand frog from the genus Leiopelmus . Named after Harold Hamilton.

Content
DescriptionSmall amphibian up to 43 mm long for males and 49 mm for females. The color is mainly brown, sometimes individuals of green color are found. The membranes on the hind legs are either absent or underdeveloped. External eardrums are absent. On the back there are several rows of glands that secrete a protective secret.
RangeThis species inhabits the Stevens and Maud islands in the Marlborough Sounds area. Found remains indicate that the species was previously more widespread - including in areas such as Whitome, Hawkes Bay, Huerarap and the northwest of the Nelson area.
LifestyleFrogs are mostly nocturnal , hiding among the roots of trees and under boulders during the day.
