Gold and silver euro coins are issued by each country in the Eurozone . They are minted in gold and silver , as well as other metals in a limited edition. Austria was the first Eurozone country to introduce a commemorative silver euro coin in January 2002. Here is a complete list of Austria's euro commemorative coins, excluding two-euro coins .
| ISO code | ISO 3166-2: AT |
These coins, issued at the Austrian Mint , are accepted for payment only in Austria, unlike Austrian euro coins of regular minting , which are legal tender in all countries of the Eurozone [1] . All coins presented in this article, as a rule, fall into private collections and therefore are called collectibles .
Austria's euro collection coins are dedicated to anniversaries of various events and historical events , sometimes to current events that are important for the country. Since 2002, Austria has been minting six variations of these coins from various precious metals in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 25, 50 and 100 euros. In addition to these coins, Austria mintes five investment coins of a single design, called the Vienna Philharmonic. These coins are issued in denominations: 1,5 (silver) and 10, 25, 50, 100 euros (gold). A coin with a face value of 100,000 euros was issued only once in 2004 in a small print run. In 2009, a commemorative gold coin with a face value of 2,000 euros was issued, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Vienna Philharmonic. Coins in denominations of 5, 10, 20 euros are issued from silver . The coin of 25 euros is bimetal: the outer ring is made of silver, the inner part is made of niobium . Coins in denominations of 50 and 100 euros are issued from gold .

European Numismatic Program
In 2004, two years after the euro was introduced in cash, seven Eurozone countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal and France) came together to issue coins of a single theme. The following year, the undertaking was continued. It was called the European Numismatic Program (series) . As part of this program, coins are issued by various EU countries (not only those belonging to the Eurozone). The number of participants is not constant. Each year is dedicated to a topic that illuminates the culture and history of Europe [6] .
From the very first issue, the logo of the series has become the so-called Eurostar, which is a combination of the Euro symbol and the star.
Under the program, Austria issues coins of 5 or 20 euros.

Commemorative Coin of 2008
In 2008, the Austrian Mint issued a commemorative medal weighing 20 kg and a batch of commemorative silver coins in honor of the 500th anniversary of the coronation of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. Their obverse repeated the design of the coin of 1508, issued in honor of the same event. The main difference from silver euro coins is that the face value of this issue is indicated in monetary units of the New Time - in talers .
