Biography

In 2004-2005, a hip-hop artistDavid Galigos recorded his tracks in his home studio and put it on the net. In 2006, David founded the group with his friend By Michael Shea . David took a new nickname - Seven, Michael signed as "Mikl". The group was called an erratative "Brokencyde . "

At the beginning of its existence, the group could not find a professional studio, and the quality of their first recordings did not change. Nevertheless, in 2007 the band recorded their first album , The Broken!, And uploaded it to Amazon . Later, sales on Amazon were closed [5] , and the album itself was uploaded to the network. This was the only release of the group, in which there were tracks on the topic of unrequited love, separation and suicide.

The style of the group combined crank music , recitative , clean vocals and scream ; This style was called Crunkcore . In early 2008, the group found a third member of the group. They become Julian McClellan, who became the composer and vocalist of Brokencyde. After some time, a new member joined the group - Anthony Trujillo.

In 2008, the band recorded the mixtape THA $ C3N3 MiXTaPe . It consisted of compositions of various types and genres; some tracks from the collection were later reissued on the album “I'm Not a Fan, But the Kids Like It!” and “The Best of brokeNCYDE” . In the same year, the group found the label “ Suburban Noize ” and a couple of months later released the single “Freaxxx” , on which the video was shot.

At the end of 2008, the first official release of “Brokencyde” was released - the mini-album “BC13” . In support of this EP, the band gave a concert on MTV and took part in a tour with other little-known bands.

On June 2, 2009, the group released the single “Booty Call” and a clip for it. On June 16, the band ’s first full-length album, “I'm Not a Fan, But the Kids Like It!”, Is released . The album debuted at number 86 on the US Billboard 2009 chart, with over 6,000 copies sold in its first week. [6] Some critics felt that listening to this album was “too severe a punishment” [7] . In July, a video was shot on the track “40 Oz.” .

After the release of the album, the group toured a lot, and at the beginning of 2010 returned to the studio. A double single “Teach Me How To Scream & Da House Party” was released before the album, and clips were later shot on both tracks. The album, titled “Will Never Die”, was released on November 9, 2010 via another label, BreakSilence Records .

In 2011, the band toured in support of their second album, and recorded a mixtape that was mixed by DJ Sku. The mixtape was called Brokencyde Vol. 1 ” and was released on March 30th.

The third album was announced on September 28, 2011. Exactly one month later, on October 28, the first single from the album “Still the King!” Was released . On November 8, the album " Guilty Pleasure" was released. The album was different from the previous ones, and it could be safely attributed to ordinary hip-hop [8] , if not for the track “Still the King!” , In which there was screaming , which is an integral part of the crunkcore genre. On December 2, a video was released for the track "Phenomenon" , which was shot in Los Angeles . On December 13, a video was released for the track “WHOA!” And on December 27 a video was released for the track “The Party Don't Stop” .

On March 9, 2012, a video was released on the scrim version of the track “Doin 'My Thang” from the album “Guilty Pleasure” , and the release of the album was also announced. On March 13, the album was reissued and titled Guilty PleasureZ . There was one new track on it, one overwritten, and on the other a couplet of the invited guest was added [9] . On June 21, a video was released for a remix of the song “Never Back Down” with Deuce, which was recorded during the Fight to Unite tour.

The group started writing their fourth studio album at the beginning of 2012, according to some sources enough material was written to release the album, but in the fall of 2012 the group left Phat J, who was the main composer. The reason is the desire of the musician to begin a solo career, there were no disagreements in the group. The group began recording the album again, the three of us, at the end of 2012. June 13, 2013 the first single was released without the participation of Phat J, which was called "Geronimo". Then the group goes on a tour of Europe, returning from which, it calms down.

After a long lull, almost a year later, the group released the next single “Fire!”. Confirmed information about the departure of Antz from the group and it returns to its original composition. A month after “Fire!”, The single “I Hate You” was released, written, according to some sources, due to the fact that Mikl broke up with his girlfriend. The single clip will be released after 10,000 plays on SoundCloud. The fourth album brokeNCYDE was released on February 14, coinciding with Valentine's Day. The album was named - All Grown Up, it included 23 tracks. In 2 days, all available digital copies of the album were sold out. The Big Support Tour album was announced - “They hate us cuz they ain't us”. Groups like Justina Valentine and Challenger joined the tour.
