Railway transport Lesotho - consists of a 2.6 km railway track with a track gauge of 1067 mm (the same as the railways of South Africa . Owns and operates the railway of South Africa; the traffic statistics this railway is included in the statistics of this country. The railway, built in 1905 , connects the capital of Lesotho, Maseru with Marseille (South Africa) , and then to Bloemfontein and KwaZulu-Natal . The road is used only for freight traffic. [1]
Since 2008, negotiations have been ongoing on the construction of new railways to connect Durban and Port Elizabeth (South Africa) . [2]
