Description
Parasitoids of other hymenopteran insects ( Argidae , Tenthredinidae , Diprionidae , Ichneumonidae ) and butterflies ( Arctiidae , Geometridae , Lasiocampidae , Lymantriidae , Lycaenidae , Noctuidae , Notodontidae ) [2] . Penetrating into their bodies, they later infect the parasitic ichneumonids living there ( Banchinae , Campopleginae and others), eventually becoming hyperparasitoids [3] .
Systematics
2 genera and about 50 species. In Europe, 8 species. Considered by the sister group to the clutch Brachycyrtinae + Labeninae [3] . The subfamily Eucerotinae was previously considered as part of Ctenopelmatinae or Tryphoninae (Townes; Barron, 1976) [1] . [3] .
