Leiopelma Archie [1] ( lat. Leiopelma archeyi ) is a New Zealand frog from the family of smooth-legged . Named after Sir Gilbert Archie (1890-1974), former director of the Auckland War Museum [2] .

Content
DescriptionA small frog up to 31 mm long in males and 37 mm in females. Color varies from green to brown. The membranes on the hind legs are either absent or poorly developed. There are no external eardrums. On the back there are several rows of glands that secrete a protective secret.
RangeThis species was found only on the Coromandel Peninsula and in the environs of Te Kuiti . Moreover, the population on the Coromandel Peninsula decreased by 88% from 1996 to 2001 [3] .
LifestyleThe male wears young tadpoles on his back.
