Bigua, Loic

Loic Bigois (Loïc Bigois, born September 19, 1960 , Aix-en-Provence , France ) - a specialist in aerodynamics in Formula 1 .

After acquiring engineering skills in Paris and Aix-en-Provence, Bigois moved to Toulouse and began work in the aerospace industry. In 1990, he was hired by the French Formula 1 Ligier car racing team, where he studied aerodynamics and worked for several years as head of the design bureau. Then, having left the team for a while, he returned in the mid-90s, taking the position of chief designer, in which he was after the change of ownership of the team (Ligier was bought out and renamed to Prost GP ). He left the team shortly before the start of the 2002 season, in the same year the team went bankrupt.

After the collapse of Prost, Bigua moved to Minardi , where he worked until 2003, when he was offered cooperation with Williams as one of the aerodynamics of the team. Bigua replaced Anthony Terzi and began working with Jörg Zander , who replaced Gavin Fischer as chief designer in September 2005. Bigua and Zander worked under the direction of CTO Sam Michael .

On July 2, 2007, Bigua announced that he was joining the Honda team and ceasing cooperation with Williams. In 2009, Honda was transformed into the Brawn GP , but Bigua remained on the team as head of the aerodynamics department. In its debut and only season, the Brawn GP won the World Cup and the Design Cup, and Loic Bigua was awarded the Dino Tozo Prize as the aerodynamics of the year. After winning the championship, the team was bought out and transformed into Mercedes , Bigua continued to work in the team until 2012 [1] .

In 2012, he took over as head of the aerodynamics department at Scuderia Ferrari [2] .
