History

The meeting was first organized in 1906.

The program of the Great Summer Assembly consists of sermons, psalms, and Songs of Zion . The sermons are translated into sign language , into Swedish , English , Russian and Estonian . Some of the sermons are translated into Hungarian, French and Spanish.

Guests from the Scandinavian countries and also from Russia, Estonia, Hungary, Germany, Canada, the USA and others come to the Meeting. Most of the guests at the meeting are young people and children.

Participants in the 2012 Summer Assembly in Loppi, in the province of Häme , despite the first case of the election of a female priest in the Lestadian movement, did not consider such a practice to be justified [2] .

In 2013, a meeting held in Pudasjärvi in Northern Ostrobothnia brought together more than 80 thousand people [3] .
