Biography
Olimpia Bida was born in 1903 in the village of Tseblov, Sokalsky district, Lviv region, Ukraine. At an early age, Olympia Bida entered the monastery of the monastic congregation "Sisters of St. Joseph." In 1938, Olympia Bida was transferred to the monastery of the village of Hirov, where she became abbess. In 1950, Olympia Bida was arrested by the NKVD and sent to Borislav , after which she was sent to Tomsk , then to a camp located near Kharsk , Tomsk Region . Olympia Bida died in the camp on January 23, 1952 due to inhuman conditions of detention.
Praise
Olympia Bida was beatified on June 26, 2001 by Pope John Paul II .
