The common stupid tern [1] ( lat. Anous stolidus ) is a species of seabirds from the gull family (Laridae) [2] . The species name of the bird comes from lat. stolidus - "unperturbed."

Content
DescriptionLarge bird with brown plumage. It nests in colonies located on high rocks or on trees and bushes, in rare cases - on the ground. Clutch consists of one egg.
RangeDistributed in all tropical seas: in the Pacific Ocean from the Hawaiian Islands to Tuamotu and Australia , including the coast of Central and north-west of South America; in the Indian Ocean from the Red Sea coast to Seychelles and Australia ; in the Atlantic Ocean from the Caribbean to the islands of Tristan da Cugna , including the coast of Cameroon [3] .
