Construction
The laying of the ship took place on January 15, 1968 at the A. A. Zhdanov shipyard (Severnaya Verf) in Leningrad under serial number 723. On August 2 of the same year, it was added to the list of ships of the USSR Navy.
On April 15, 1969, the ship was launched, on November 29, 1971 it entered service, and on December 13 of that year it was included in the 170 brigade of anti-submarine ships of the Red Banner Northern Fleet .
Service
In October 1972, the BOD participated in the search for enemy submarines in the Norwegian Sea, then served in the Mediterranean Sea.
From June to December 1974 he served in the Mediterranean Sea , in July during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus he took part in the evacuation of Soviet citizens from the island.
In April 1975, he took part in the Ocean 75 exercises.
In April-October 1977, the BOD served in the South Atlantic Ocean, during which it also went to Conakry and Luanda .
From May to December 1983, the ship served in the south Atlantic Ocean, visiting the eastern coast of Africa ( Bissau , Conakry, Luanda).
In early April 1984, he took part in the Atlantic 84 exercises.
January 31, 1991 the ship was expelled from the fleet and in 1994 was sold to India for cutting metal. He didn’t reach the place of cutting, ran aground and was broken by a storm. The team was rescued by a passing US destroyer, responding to a distress signal.
