East China , Korea .
Biological Description
Perennial about 1 meter tall, with straight, stiff shoots , lignified in the lower part.
The leaves are large, leathery, three-feathered, up to 15 cm long.
Flowers are about 2.5 cm in diameter, bright blue, fragrant , with 4 hyacinth-shaped petals inverted and cut along the edges.
It blooms in August - September [5] .
In Culture
It is used for planting on discounts or between shrubs.
As a result of crossing this species with other clematis, hybrids belonging to the clematis of the Heracleifolia group were obtained. The most valuable of these are the varieties 'Praecox', 'Mrs Robert Brydon' and 'New Love' [6] .
Needs strong pruning at the level of 1-3 pairs of kidneys and good care.
Winters without shelter [7] .
Germination of seeds within 0.5-3 months. Landing in open ground in shaded places after the termination of spring frost.
Flowering for 2 years after sowing.
