The flag was approved on February 19, 2009 [1] and entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 4766.
Description
"A rectangular panel with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, reproducing the composition of the coat of arms of the Tambov region in blue, white, black, red and yellow."
The heraldic description of the coat of arms reads: “ In the azure (blue, blue) field, a silver crane with a black chest and wing ends, a scarlet (red) nape, a golden beak, eyes and legs flying to the left, followed by two golden heads of bread ears (left more), fan-shaped ”.
Symbols
The flag is designed on the basis of the coat of arms of the district, which in the language of symbols and allegories shows the historical, economic and natural features of the Tambov district.
