The scientific name of the genus comes from the Greek. ἄμορφος - ugly, ugly , because the flowers do not have wings and a boat ( moth type corolla ).

Distribution and Ecology
In nature , the range of the genus covers the southern regions of Canada , almost the entire territory of the United States and the northern regions of Mexico .
Representatives of the genus grow on lit dry soils.
Biological Description
The leaf arrangement is alternate. Leaves are complex, pinnate; leaflets numerous, up to 45, whole, whole, sessile or short petioles , glabrous or pubescent.
The flowers are from dark purple to white, small, in the final narrow, multi-flowered brushes or panicles . Calyx bell - shaped with five short identical or different teeth, glandular-spotted; whisk from one wide sail with a short marigold. Wings and boats are absent. Stamens 10 fused with threads; ovary sessile, with two ovules .
The beans are short, usually with one seed, not opening, glabrous or pubescent, with glandular warts. Seeds are elongated, kidney-shaped, smooth, shiny.
