Swedish Match is a Swedish company that manufactures snus , tobacco (including the famous Red Man chewing tobacco ), cigars , matches and lighters . The most famous brand is the Cricket lighter. The company was founded in 1915 under the name Svenska Tändsticksaktiebolaget Ivar Kruger in Jönköping . The current name of the company has since 1980.

The company expanded by acquiring national monopolies after the merger with the British company Bryant and May in 1926. Swedish Match became the largest match manufacturer in the world.
In 1999, the company bought 40% of the largest Indonesian match manufacturing company, PT Java Match Factory (Jamafac).
