Geography
Bronte is known for its excellent wine made from grapes growing in the Simeto Valley. The town lies between the flows of frozen lava, which were left by volcanic eruptions of 1651 and 1843. The surroundings of the city abound with excellent vineyards, beautiful arable land, forests and pastures; but to the west of it stretches a vast desert, which was formed by lava flows and behind which lies the lovely grove of Maletto [1] .
