History
At the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries, on the pages of the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary , the article about this settlement said: “ 16905 inhabitants. The ancient cathedral (XV century) and the castle of Emperor Frederick II. Significant production of nitrate; cattle and horses are bred ” [1] .
