- ↑ The “Ancient” or “Glass” image of the Most Holy Theotokos resides in the sanctuary on one of the five hills of Castellana, erected in honor of the miraculous deliverance from the plague in 1691, on the site of a small church in honor of the Most Holy Theotokos, dating back to the 3rd or 4th centuries . Before the image for three hundred years an unquenchable lamp has been burning.
