Makhachkala district

The Makhachkala district is an administrative-territorial unit of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , which existed in 1952-1953. The administrative center is the city of Makhachkala .

The district was formed on June 25, 1952 , when the entire territory of the Dagestan ASSR was divided into 4 districts. Bordered with Buynaksk and Izberbash districts of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , as well as with the Grozny region .

It was divided into 10 districts, 1 city of republican subordination and 2 cities of district subordination:

  • Andalalsky - with. Andalals
  • Babayurtovsky - with. Babayurt
  • Vedensky - with. Vedeno
  • Kazbekovsky - with. Dlym
  • Karabudakhkentsky - with. Karabudakhkent
  • Kizilyurtovsky - with. Kizilyurt
  • Novolaksky - with. Novolakskoe
  • Rytlyabsky - with. Ritlab
  • Khasavyurt Khasavyurt
  • Shuragatsky - with. Suraghat
  • Makhachkala city
  • city ​​of Kaspiysk

On April 24, 1953, all districts of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic were abolished.
