Salento ( Italian: Salento ) - a commune in Italy , located in the Campania region, in the province of Salerno in the south-west of the country. It borders the Chilenco and Vallo di Diano National Park, as well as the Comunità Montana Zona del Gelbison e Cervati, an association of 10 municipalities.

The territory of Montana Zona del Gelbison e Cervati includes the communes themselves, all the mountains of Gelbison (Monte Sacro) and Cervati and has an area of 256 km² .
The patroness of the commune is venerated St. Barbara , the celebration of December 4 and July 29 .
The main street of the town is Via Valante Marcello Scarpa. On it are located the city hall, medical center and the diner "La Dolce Vita".
