Biography
The band was formed in 2005 by vocalist Rick De Gisous, lead guitarist Chris Yorio and drummer Trevor Stafford in Las Vegas. After some time, the group gave their first concerts in Los Angeles and San Diego.
In Mexico , an incident occurred with a group - corrupt policemen robbed a group. But Rick has hidden some cash in his socks. To calm the nerves, the participants went to the nearest bar, which was called “Adelita”. Thus, the name of the group appeared - “Adelitas Way”.
In the fall of 2008, the band signed a contract with Virgin Records and Adelitas Way began recording a full-length album. The self-titled album Adelitas Way was released on July 14, 2009 and received considerable fame in the mainstream - by March 2010, the album sold out with a circulation of 45.000 copies.
The first single from the album, "Invincible", became the main theme of the WWE Superstars and lit up in the WWE video game SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 .
After the release of the album, the band went on tour, having managed to play for it with 10 Years , Chevelle , Saliva , Sick Puppies , Shinedown , Halestorm , Breaking Benjamin and Theory of a Deadman . In May 2009, Adelitas Way participated in the Rock on the Range rock festival that took place in Columbus, Ohio and is going to take part in it in 2010. In February 2010, the band went on tour with Three Days Grace and Chevelle.
In November 2009, Hregton Bibbs came to replace Chris Yorio, who had previously played in the group The Leo Project.
The band's latest release is the second single “Last Stand”, released along with the video on February 2, 2010. The director of the video was Paul Boyd (Paul Boyd).
Home School Valedictorian (2011–2012)
On January 31, 2011, the band showed their second album Home School Valedictorian. The album was originally planned to be released in May, but was rescheduled for June 7th. Before the band released the album, they recruited Robert Zakaryan as a new rhythm guitarist for the band. The first single of the album, "Sick", was released on March 11, 2011. It was a # 1 hit on active Rock Radio. And the song “The Collapse” at the end of August of the same year, became hit number 2 on rock radio. February 16, 2012 “Criticize” was announced the third single “Home School Valedictorian”, and reached # 1 on an active rock chart. The song “Alive” is declared the 4th and last single of the album. On August 13, 2012, he reached fourth in the active Rock chart of the United States.
Stuck (2012—2014)
The new album of the group called “Stuck” will be released on July 29, 2014.
The recording began at the very end of 2012 and continued until July 2013. On May 7, 2013, guitarist Keith Wallen tells on his Facebook page that he leaves the band to pursue his own personal goals. And on November 16, 2013, bassist Derek Johnston left the band. The album will consist of 13 songs in the following order: “Dog on a Leash”, “Save the World”, “Different Kind of Animal”, “Stuck”, “Keep Me Waiting”, “Undivided”, “Drive”, “ Not Thinking About Me, Blur, Something More, We Came, What You Are, Change the Earth Their first single from the new album, Dog on a Leash, was released on April 8, 2014, after which the video for the song was shot.
Getaway (2016)
In February 2016, the group released a new album "Getaway".
Style
The musical style of Adelitas Way is a 1970s combination of indie funk and hard rock from the 1990s, as well as influences from bands like Nirvana, Guns N 'Roses, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Incubus, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and soundgarden.
